PCS Software said it integrated DAT One into its transportation management system, allowing Cortex tools to rank loads, including backhauls, by profitability.

PCS said the DAT One load board is now available in Cortex Opportunity Manager and Cortex Backhaul Booster — AI-driven features used to prioritize freight and identify backhaul options. The company said the integration lets dispatchers evaluate loads without switching between systems or re-entering information.

“Speed matters in a tight freight market — but carriers who win aren’t just moving fast, they’re moving smart,” said Mark Hill, CEO of PCS Software. “Bringing DAT One loads directly into Cortex Opportunity Manager means dispatchers aren’t just seeing more freight. They’re seeing loads that meet their criteria, which means they don’t have to choose between speed and quality. They get both.”

Customers with a DAT One subscription can search the load board within PCS. The company said those results are turned into “structured opportunities” in Cortex Opportunity Manager and then scored and ranked using each fleet’s configured profitability logic. PCS said the scoring can factor in elements including the offered rate, lane, fuel and operational costs.

DAT One results also feed Cortex Backhaul Booster, giving dispatchers access to backhaul options from DAT One that appear alongside other freight sources within Cortex. The company said those backhaul opportunities also are scored and ranked without manual input.

“Booking decisions have to support the bottom line. Integrating DAT One into PCS Cortex means carriers can see which loads meet their profitability criteria without disrupting their workflow, so they can act on the right opportunities the moment they’re available,” said Bill Driegert, executive vice president of DAT Freight & Analytics’ carrier segment.

PCS framed the move as an effort to keep dispatchers focused on decision-making rather than data entry. Instead of treating the load board as a separate step, the company said DAT One freight can be evaluated in the same system where dispatchers compare options and decide what to book.

“Dispatchers don’t have time to evaluate every load manually,” said Danielle Villegas, chief product officer at PCS Software. “The whole point of Opportunity Manager is to make the best load obvious. Adding DAT One as a direct freight source makes that signal stronger — without adding work.”

PCS said the DAT One integration is available in Cortex Opportunity Manager and Cortex Backhaul Booster. Access requires subscriptions to both Cortex and DAT One, the company said.
