Oshkosh Buys Specialty Truck Company for $140 Million

pecialty truck maker Oshkosh Truck Corp. said Friday it signed an agreement to buy AK Specialty Vehicles, a maker of mobile medical, security and communications and broadcast vehicles, from Healthtronics Inc. for $140 million.

Oshkosh said the acquisition will diversify its business in the specialty truck industry. The company also makes military and fire trucks.

AK Specialty Vehicles will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Oshkosh, which expects the deal to close in July.
