The goal of the facility will be to develop solutions for logistics and transportation challenges.

Odyssey, which ranks No. 50 on the Transport Topics Top 50 list of the largest logistics companies in North America, assists in the transportation of many different types of freight. But the firm specializes in dry and liquid bulk, food-grade products and other items moving on tanker trucks and International Organization for Standardization tanks.

The Danbury, Conn.-based company is a major player in the petrochemical, industrial and manufacturing markets.

“Odyssey is committed to creating solutions and options in today’s capacity constrained environment,” CEO Bob Shellman said. “Strategically located in Houston’s Energy Corridor and near a major logistics hub, the center allows our engineers to focus on providing safe, cost-effective and sustainable transportation solutions.”

Using sophisticated software, Odyssey engineers can fabricate prototype solutions to common logistics problems and test them for commercial applications.
