  • Howard says TT's change preserves its volume of feature content while concentrating more insight, rankings, supplements and special sections into fewer issues.
  • He notes that the publication will pair the redesign with a digital strategy emphasizing subscriber-focused in-depth reporting while maintaining breaking trucking news at ttnews.com.

Transport Topics is evolving.

TT is the trucking industry’s leading source for news and information, and that will never change. What is changing is how we deliver that content.

Beginning with the June 29 print edition, TT will feature expanded analysis and long-form content focused on what the latest industry news and trends mean to you. This shift in strategy will ensure that our print edition is packed with the kind of insight and business intelligence that helps subscribers better run and manage their businesses. That includes all of our feature content, including TT’s award-winning annual Top 100 rankings, our quarterly iTECH and Calibrate supplements, our Deep Dive special sections and our informative weekly features.

With the redesign, our delivery cadence will change to a twice-per-month, magazine-style format. But rest assured, you’re not getting less; we will still deliver the same amount of feature content and industry insight — we’ll just do so in fewer issues. For example, each issue will spotlight two feature topics, whereas the weekly format included just one. Going forward, when TT arrives, you’ll know that every page is packed with forward-looking, insightful intelligence that will help you make better decisions and navigate an ever-changing transportation landscape.

This evolution follows a shift in our digital strategy also tailored toward better understanding our audience. Online, we are intensifying our focus on elevating the top-tier, in-depth reporting our subscribers have come to expect. And if news is breaking in trucking, you’ll still learn about it at ttnews.com.

Subscriber online accounts include exclusive access to feature content as well as premium-access stories that explore how industry trends and regulatory and economic developments are affecting transportation companies’ day-to-day lives. Standard online accounts featuring free access to daily news and reporting content readers have come to expect are also still available.

We are confident that these changes will make the entire scope of TT’s offerings more useful and valuable to our readers. We’re excited about our new direction and the opportunity it provides to make TT more responsive to today’s vibrant trucking industry landscape. We hope you will share in our excitement. And, as always, thank you for reading Transport Topics.

Joe Howard has been executive editor of Transport Topics since January 2017.
