The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. announced it is expanding its company-owned presence in the Midwest by purchasing Raben Tire Co., based in Evansville, Ind., from affiliates of Palladium Equity Partners, a private equity firm.

Raben, founded in 1952, is one of the largest tire and service companies in the Midwest. It has more than over 30 commercial and consumer tire and service locations and retread production plants, according to Akron, Ohio-based Goodyear.

“Goodyear is already one of the world’s largest operators of commercial truck service and retreading centers and has nearly 800 company-owned commercial and retail tire and auto service centers across the U.S. and Canada,” Dave Beasley, vice president of Goodyear North America Commercial, said in a release.

The tire maker has about 64,000 employees and manufactures products in 47 facilities spanning 21 countries. — Transport Topics
