Trailer maker Fontaine Specialized announced it added a new model to the Workhorse lineup, the 55PVR Pro, a multipurpose road construction trailer.

It features a low front approach angle — ideal for ground-hugging pavers or milling machines — plus a removable two-piece center bogie section to accommodate excavators, according to the company.

The 55PVR Pro comes standard with a longer gooseneck, 275 tires and 108 inch/82 inch dual kingpin for overall length flexibility.

“It can handle 55 tons in 16 feet or 50 tons in 12 feet with three or four axles close coupled; so it can haul a wide variety of concentrated loads,” Heather Gilmer, vice president of sales at Fontaine Specialized, said in a release.

Fontaine Specialized is part of Marmon Holdings Inc., which is owned by Berkshire Hathaway. — Transport Topics
