FedEx's Smith Says Recovery is “Slow But Certain”

FedEx Corp, Chief Executive Officer Fred Smith said at the company’s annual meeting that economic recovery is “slow but certain,” Bloomberg reported.

Smith added that he had “guarded confidence” about the economy, and cautioned that recovery will not be simple, Bloomberg said.

“FedEx is so big that we can’t hide from the economy,” Smith said at the company's meeting in Memphis, Tenn. “We are part of it.”

FedEx Corp. is ranked No. 2 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
