Component manufacturer Eaton Corp. has announced that Craig Arnold will transition to chairman and CEO as part of a succession plan that is scheduled to conclude in June 2016.

In a statement, Eaton said that Arnold will assume leadership of the company upon the retirement of Alexander Cutler, who will vacate the chairman/CEO post May 31, 2016, when he will have reached the company’s mandatory retirement age of 65. Arnold’s appointment will take effect June 1, 2016.

In the interim, Arnold will become president and chief operating officer effective Sept. 1.

Arnold has led Eaton’s industrial sector unit since 2009.

Other changes slated to take effect Sept. 1 include the selection of Eaton Chief Financial Officer Richard Fearon to the board of directors and the appointment of Uday Yadav to take over Arnold’s industrial unit post.

At the electrical unit, Revathi Advaithi will succeed Thomas Gross as president. Gross is retiring.
