ORLANDO, Fla. — Securing technology provider Doleco USA unveiled its level deck self-leveling decking beam at an industry conference on March 6.

Executives with the company said their product aims to enhance worker productivity while reducing operational complexity as well as effort. They further emphasized the product is smoother and quieter, and capable of withstanding the impact of forklifts.

The level deck self-leveling decking beam was unveiled at the Technology & Maintenance Council 2022 Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition.

“With its spring-assisted ergonomic adjustment efficiencies, self-leveling feature, quiet operation and forklift-resistant construction, Doleco’s level deck is truly a game-changing captive system,” said Ralph Abato, president and managing director of Doleco USA.

The company explained the product can be released and adjusted by hand. Its release is achievable with a common dock hook or fifth wheel puller. Upon release, it is able to move freely by hand. At the desired set height, it self-levels and locks itself into a horizontal position.

“This is yet another example of how Doleco is setting the pace and challenging the status quo in the North American cargo securement marketplace,” Abato added.

Steve Downing, the product’s inventor, reflected on its multiple benefits. “While working at Con-way Freight I developed a passion for cargo securement and had the opportunity to deeply analyze the efficiency of captive decking beam systems,” Downing said. “I saw for myself what drastic improvements could be enjoyed if issues such as beam weight, ease of use, premature wear, forklift damage, operational noise, release tool misplacement and uncontrolled beam travel during shipping were addressed.”
