The Diesel Emissions Summit
II
Tuesday, March 16, 2004
Broward County Convention Center
Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Co-Organized by Transport Topics and the Technology &
Maintenance Council
YOU
NEED TO ATTEND THIS MEETING
TO DISCUSS THE FUTURE
OF TRUCKING
The
first Diesel Engine Emissions Summit, held in Phoenix in
June 2003, was a standing-room-only affair that made headlines
and energized the trucking industry’s preparations for complying
with the new federal emissions and fuel regulations. We
believe that Diesel Engine Emissions Summit II will be even
more important.
This
summit will be held in conjunction with the Technology &
Maintenance Council’s annual meeting in Fort. Lauderdale
on March 16.
The
day-long sessions will examine how the industry weathered
the implementation of the ’02 emissions rule and how all
the parties are preparing for the introduction of ultra-low-sulfur
diesel fuel in ’06 and the new generation of engines mandated
by the reduced emissions standards that will go into effect
in ’07.
Panelists
will include the same caliber of key experts who attended
the Phoenix summit, and we expect representation from all
the major stakeholders.
Sessions
will include:
- An evaluation by the General Accounting Office of how
well the ’02 rule was implemented;
- A survey of trucking fleets on their experiences with
the ’02 engines up to now;
- A report on how preparations for ’06 and ’07 are progressing,
in the government’s view;
- A panel of fleet executives who will review the impact
the ’02 rule had on trucking and discuss their plans for
’07;
- A status report on the activities of coolant, lube and
fuel manufacturers;
- A panel of top executives from truck manufacturers;
- A panel of key executives from heavy-duty engine makers;
- The opportunity to question all panelists; and
- Much more.
