illiam Zollars, chief executive officer of less-than-truckload carrier YRC Worldwide, on Saturday in an interview with the New York Times highlighted China as “a primary area of emphasis” for the company, and added that the carrier would likely announce acquisitions there within the next year.

YRC is seeking to establish a foothold in China, where many of the carrier’s shippers already have a presence, Zollars told the Times.

YRC currently has joint ventures with the freight-forwarding and logistics businesses of Chinese company Jin Jiang, Zollars said in the interview.

YRC Worldwide is ranked No. 3 on the Transport Topics 100 list of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
