Wabash’s Profit Improves; Sales Dip

Trailer maker Wabash National Corp. said Monday its fourth-quarter profit was $5.6 million, or 18 cents a share, compared with a loss of $5 million, or 16 cents, a year ago.

Net sales fell to $258 million from $354 million a year ago, Wabash said in a statement.

For the full year, Wabash earned $16.3 million, or 52 cents a share, up from $9.4 million, or 30 cents, a year before. Sales dipped to $1.1 billion, from $1.3 billion.

The fourth-quarter and full-year results included a $3.3 million foreign-currency gain from sale of its Canadian branches, Wabash said.
