USA Truck Inc. announced the appointment of Alexander Greene to the company’s board of directors.

Greene most recently was a managing partner and head of U.S. private equity at Brookfield Asset Management, an asset management company with more than $175 billion in assets, according to USA Truck.

“I have known and worked with Alex for many years, and we are delighted to have him join our board,” Robert Peiser USA Truck Chairman said in a statement. “We believe the financial, business and strategic acumen he has demonstrated throughout his distinguished career will be extremely valuable to USA Truck as we work to further improve the company’s financial performance and create long-term shareholder value.”

The announcement follows the recent appointments of Vadim Perelman and Thomas Glaser to the company’s board of directors.

Perelman is managing partner and chief investment officer of Baker Street Capital, and Glaser is a transportation executive and was a consultant to USA Truck in 2012 and served as the company’s interim COO last year.

The addition of Greene brings the board to 10 members. USA Truck, based in Van Buren, Arkansas, is No. 52 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of for-hire carriers.
