UPS, Ford Extend Vehicle Delivery Pact

UPS Inc. has extended its vehicle logistics services contract with Ford Motor Co. through the end of 2012.

UPS said the contract includes delivering new cars and managing outbound distribution of finished vehicles. It had been scheduled to run through the end of 2009 and was first signed in 2000.

Paul Hargadon, general manager of UPS’s Automotive Industry Solutions Group, said the company “has provided improved transit times while lowering logistics costs.”

UPS is ranked No. 1 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
