Union Pacific said it is increasing the frequency of intermodal service from Portland, Oregon, and Northern California to Chicago to create more truck-competitive service.

The routes are part of what Union Pacific calls its “premium” intermodal service and include four-day delivery in the morning.

The Portland route runs six-days a week westbound and five day a week eastbound. The Northern California service runs from Union Pacific’s Oakland and Lathrop intermodal ramps and operates from five and seven days per week.

Schedules are available at Union Pacific’s website.
