Truckers Use Rigs to Nab Suspect

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Two semi-trailer drivers said they saw a man beating a woman in a car, so they did what any law-abiding citizens would do: used their rigs to box in and force the car to the road side.

The drivers are being credited for the Tuesday arrest of a 19-year-old man from Plattsmouth who is suspected of assaulting a 19-year-old Iowa woman.

The truckers said they witnessed the assault on Interstate 80 near Ashland. They called the Nebraska State Patrol before maneuvering their trucks around the car and forcing it to pull

A state patrol spokeswoman said the woman in the car had suffered several scrapes and appeared to be in pain. She fainted at the scene and was taken to Midlands Hospital in Papillion. She was later transferred to another hospital.
