Truckers Passing Through Utah Advised to Prepare for Olympics
With Olympic venues located inside and outside the city Feb. 8-24, travel will be impacted on interstates 80, 84, 215 and 15 as well as on U.S. routes 89 and 40. Anyone able to avoid the entire area is advised to take Interstate 70 to the south or Interstate 90 to the north.
“First and foremost, we’re trying to help the different industries help themselves,” Utah DOT spokesman Dave Smith told Transport Topics. “We’re really asking for as much help and cooperation as possible from the trucking industry, which is one of the most important industries in our country. Armed with information, they can make effective plans and help themselves and the entire transportation system.”
