Truck Border Crossings Rise to 10.8 Million in 2013

Commercial truck crossings into the United States from Mexico and Canada increased 1.1% to 10.8 million in 2013, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The rise in border crossings is the fourth consecutive yearly increase after declines from 2005 to 2009, according to DOT’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

There were 163.3 million person crossings into the United States from Mexico in personal vehicles or as pedestrians in 2013, a 4.6 percent rise from the previous year.

There were an additional 62.8 million person crossings into the United States from Canada in personal vehicles or as pedestrians in 2013.
