Transplace Lands Contract With Prysmian Group

Energy and telecom cable company Prysmian Group has signed a deal with Transplace to run its North American transportation network and assist in international shipments and clearing customs.

Prysmian noted that Transplace will help slash costs and increase efficiency and visibility in the supply chain.

“This partnership with Transplace will allow us to further our dedication to investing in the future by focusing on relationships and ongoing actions to improve efficiency, making Prysmian Group a more sustainable company,” said Gianmichele Alivia, vice president of logistics and supply chain. “Transplace brings extensive experience, a large shipper and carrier network and robust logistics technology that will allow us to gain greater control over our transportation operations, reduce costs and support Prysmian Group’s commitment to sustainability.”

Transplace will employ its transportation management system to manage freight shipments, audits and payments, and balance the mix between over-the-road truckload and intermodal rail.
