TransForce to Purchase Canadian Courier

Canadian transportation firm TransForce Income Fund said Thursday it will purchase Century II Holdings, the parent company of Toronto-based ICS Courier.

TransForce, Saint-Laurent, Quebec, said it will pay about C$121 million to acquire Century II.

ICS, which generated about C$85.5 million in revenue in 2006, employs about 1,300 employees and owner operators and a has network of 35 offices across Canada, TransForce said.

TrasForce ranks No. 19 on the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.
