TransForce Completes Acqusition of Trucking Firm Westfreight

Canadian transportation firm TransForce Income Fund said Thursday it completed its acquisition of Westfreight Systems and Westfreight Holdings (U.S.A.). Terms were not disclosed.Westfreight specializes in over-dimensional and heavy-haul transportation services and is a less-than-truckload and truckload van and flatbed service provider. Westfreight was started in 1989.With a focus on serving the oil and gas industry, Westfreight’s primary service lanes are between Alberta, Canada, and the Texas and Oklahoma regions. The company generates annual revenue of about $47 million, TransForce said.Lance Griffin, president of Westfreight Systems, will continue to lead the company.TransForce is ranked No. 22 on the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian trucking companies.
