TransForce Buys Online Trainer SafetyServe

Trucking industry staff recruitment and training provider TransForce purchased SafetyServe, which provides online safety training courses for companies, government agencies and insurance companies. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Alexandria, Va.-based TransForce said the SafetyServe purchase will add to its technology-enabled training services.

SafetyServe offers online recruiting and driving courses, in addition to U.S. Department of Transportation-compliance services that include audit preparedness, and file qualification and training, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulation education. The company has worked with the National Safety Council since 1998.

TransForce has completed 10 acquisitions in the past five years, including Trucking Unlimited, an online technology company that operates the truckdrivingjobs.com board that matches truck drivers with motor carriers. The company said it is seeking to acquire other service providers in the areas of safety, FMCSA compliance and training and education.

SafetyServe will continue to operate from its Bloomfield Hills, Mich., headquarters with its existing management team.
