TMW Launches Integration Features for Omnitracs, SkyBitz

Transportation-management software provider TMW Systems Inc. said it has established new integration capabilities with Omnitracs Inc. and SkyBitz.

Omnitracs customers can use the TMWSuite software to get critical event recording, a new trailer-tracking portal and a driver workflow system, the companies said in a joint statement Sept. 23. Omnitracs, which will be spun off from Qualcomm Inc. this year, makes onboard communication systems.

“With these new additions, customers can benefit from ready access to the very latest, time-sensitive and mission-critical information from Omnitracs, giving them actionable information when they need it,” Scott Vanselous, TMW’s executive vice president of marketing, said in a statement.

SkyBitz, which operates trailer-tracking hardware and software, now can send data to TMW’s fleet maintenance system regarding trailer maintenance needs.

“Trailer maintenance is a costly area for fleets,” Skybitz Senior Vice President Henry Popplewell, said in a statement. “Integrating our asset-management information with TMW’s fleet-maintenance solution will greatly improve preventive-maintenance efficiency and help avoid costly downtime for our customers.”

Both companies’ expanded integration capabilities were announced as part of TMW’s user conference. SkyBitz and Omnitracs already allowed some integration between their systems.
