The mascot made a splash at the recent National Truck Driving Championships, where it entertained dozens of children.

The industry’s safety campaign arm has been promoting the mascot for several months.

Elisabeth Barna, chief operating officer and executive vice president of industry affairs for the American Trucking Associations, emphasized the mascot helps promote safety.

“The mascot brings our industry to life in a positive, friendly manner that really resonates with kids and families. One of the main reasons we wanted to bring a mascot to the industry was to help young people form positive first impressions of trucks that will stay with them as they move into adulthood,” Barna said.

She added, “By spending time with a friendly mascot, we think kids will grow up to be less intimidated by trucks and have more favorable impressions of our industry. We saw how much people loved the duck mascot at NTDC over the years and thought he needed a buddy to help spread a positive message about our industry.”
