GeoLogic Introduces New In-Cab Display

GeoLogic Solutions last Thursday introduced a new Windows-based in-cab touch screen display designed for use with mobile trucking applications.

John Lewis, chief executive officer of GeoLogic Solutions, said the unit offers such applications as electronic driver logs, text to speech, mapping and onboard navigation.



The unit will be available as a display option to new GeoLogic customers and as an upgrade for existing users of the company’s MobileMax system, GeoLogic said in a statement. Transport Topics


PeopleNet Issued Patent for Over-The-Air-Programming Technology

Mobile communications software provider PeopleNet received last Friday a patent related to its Over-The-Air Programming technology, which allows the company to perform remote software updates on truck-cab computers.

The technology allows for wireless updates “virtually anywhere in North America,” PeopleNet said in a statement.

Over the past six years, PeopleNet has used the OTAP technology to update its automated driver log application and distribute its PerformX fault codes and diagnostic software to monitor trucks’ engine and other vital components.Transport Topics


Dematic Releases New Version of Order Fulfillment Software

Dematic Corp., a logistics software provider, introduced on Tuesday the latest version of its PickDirector order fulfillment software.

PickDirector 3.1 supports light directed picking (pick-to-light and put-to-light), voice directed picking, pick carts and radio frequency directed picking through a single software platform, Dematic said in a statement.

Using the new software, Dematic said fast moving stock keeping units with high density slot locations can be picked using light directed technology, while slow-medium velocity SKUs with low density slot locations can be picked with voice directed technology. Transport Topics


VXI Corp. Introduces Bluetooth Headseat for Truckers

VXI Corp. introduced last Friday the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK wireless bluetooth headset designed for truck drivers using cell phones.

The headset includes a noise-canceling microphone designed to block road and engine noise and offers truckers a wireless connection of up to 33 feet, VXI said in a statement.

Catalytica Moves to New Headquarters

Catalytica Energy Systems, a company that manufactures diesel engine aftermarket technology that reduces particulate matter and nitrogen oxide emissions, last Tuesday moved to a new headquarters in Tempe, Ariz.

The move follows the sale in July of the company’s 43,000 square-foot facility in Gilbert, Ariz., and reflects Catalytica’s recently downsized operations, the firm said in a statement.Transport Topics
