Xata Pares Losses in 2006

Transportation technology firm Xata Corp. last Tuesday said it lost $498,000 in its fiscal fourth quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with a loss of $2.3 million in the previous fourth quarter.

Revenue in the fourth quarter of 2006 increased to $5.1 million from $4.6 million last year, the company said in a statement.



For the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, Xata lost $1.7 million on $30.6 in revenue, compared with a loss of $6 million on $19.3 million in revenue for 2005.Transport Topics


Ericsson to be Prime Provider of WCDMA 3G for T-Mobile USA Network

Telecommunications firm Ericsson announced on Monday it has been awarded a contract to act as the prime radio provider for WCDMA 3G for T-Mobile USA.

Under the deal, Ericsson will also offer network planning, civil construction, installation, testing and optimization for the T-Mobile network, which is due to be rolled out in 2007.

Ericsson said the agreement is contingent upon the award of AWS spectrum to

VeraSun Breaks Ground on New Ethanol Plant

Ethanol producer VeraSun Energy Corp. on Monday announced it broke ground for a new ethanol plant in Hartley, Iowa.

The facility will produce about 110 million gallons per year, VeraSun said in a statement.

The plant is scheduled to begin production in 2008. Transport Topics
