Goodyear Unveils DuraSeal Commercial Tire Technology
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. said Monday it developed commercial tire technology that repairs tire punctures when they occur.Goodyear said in a statement its DuraSeal technology features a "built-in sealant" that allows truck drivers to continue operating after a tire is punctured.
Steve McClellan, vice president of commercial tire systems, said the technology uses a gel-like compound built into the inner liner of the tire and was designed to instantly seal punctures up to 1/4-inch in the tread area. Transport Topics
AtRoad Debuts New Software Package
Mobile communications software company AtRoad Inc. said Tuesday it launched a new service that combines vehicle tracking, route compliance, electronic driver logs, vehicle diagnostics and other feautres into one bunbled package.The company said in a statement that AtRoad Solution Suite for Transportation and Distribution was the first of several new products to be unveiled during the current quarter.
It said the bundled services could increase productivity, reduce operations costs, improve customer service and enhance driver safety. Transport Topics
