ruck drivers for seven Seattle heating oil companies reached three-year contract agreements, ending a strike that started last week, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported Friday.

The agreement calls for an annual increase in their economic packages, the paper reported, citing union sources

A union official said the pact translates into about 4.5% annual increase in wages, health care and pension payments for most drivers, the Post-Intelligencer said.

Most drivers receive a total of $27.95 an hour for those categories, the paper said.

The oil companies — Cascade Oil, Genesee Fuel & Heating, Glendale Oil, Olson Fuel, Pacific Heating Oil, Rossoe Energy Systems and Sound Oil Co. — did not comment collectively, though a Cascade service manager said his company was pleased with the settlement and that the strike did not make a large financial dent in business, the Post-Intelligencer reported.
