Schneider Unit Buys Chinese Logistics Firm

Schneider National unit Schneider Logistics (Tianjin) Co. said Monday it has purchased the operating assets of Chinese firm BaoYun Logistics.

The investment will allow Schneider to further expand its current supply chain consulting and transportation and logistics service offerings in that country, the company said in a statement.

The combined offering now includes transportation, warehousing, cross-docking, third-party logistics and consulting services, Schneider said.

BaoYun Logistics, founded in 1998, is one of China’s top 30 private logistics enterprises, the company said.

Schneider National is ranked No. 8 on the 2007 Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
