Salvation Army to Install SmartDrive Software on Entire Fleet

The Salvation Army said it will install safety monitoring and vehicle diagnostic systems, manufactured by SmartDrive, on its entire fleet.

The systems interface with a truck’s onboard computer and allows fleet managers to remotely monitor vehicle performance, SmartDrive said.

The system wirelessly uploads data related to fuel consumption, engine performance and idling time to SmartDrive’s Web site, where the information can be accessed by fleet managers, the company said.

The system also includes two cameras, which can be used to monitor drivers and outside road conditions.
