Rush Enterprises Reports Higher Profit on Truck Sales Growth

ush Enterprises Inc., the nation’s largest dealer of Peterbilt Motors Co. trucks, reported first-quarter net income of $7.7 million or 31 cents a share, up from $2.2 million or 14 cents last year.

The company’s truck segment recorded revenue of $388.5 million, up from $217 million a year earlier.

Rush said it delivered 2,185 new heavy-duty trucks in the quarter, up from 999 a year earlier.



It also delivered 624 medium-duty trucks, up from 327 a year earlier, and 980 used trucks, up from 775 last year.

Its truck parts, service and body shop sales rose 24% to $63.4 million.

“Truck sales are back and Rush is pleased with its first-quarter performance,” said Marvin Rush, chairman and chief executive officer.
