The Port of Los Angeles is hosting the world’s largest floating rubber duck, which led the city’s Tall Ships Festival last week, as part of its world tour.

The six-story inflatable duck, created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, was scheduled to leave Aug. 24, after the festival, but due to overwhelming demand is extending its stay until Sept. 6.

“We were floored by the response,” port spokesman Phillip Sanfield told the Los Angeles Times. “It struck a chord to see this enormous duck with the backdrop of the nation’s busiest container port.”

“We’re running with it and having fun,” Sanfield told the paper.

The duck has appeared in Australia, China, Belgium, Japan, New Zealand, Brazil and Pittsburgh.
