Peterbilt Begins Production of 579 UltraLoft Model

Peterbilt Motors Co. announced it has begun production of its Model 579 UltraLoft with a high-roof, integral cab-and-sleeper design for its flagship on-highway model.

The Model 579 UltraLoft was designed to offer increased space and storage to create a comfortable environment for drivers, according to the Denton, Texas-based company, a brand of Paccar Inc.

“The UltraLoft is the result of the collaborative process between Peterbilt and many of our customers and drivers,” said Robert Woodall, assistant general manager of sales and marketing at Peterbilt.

The trucks include larger mattresses, more headroom and enough space to hang a 32-inch flatscreen TV.

David Freymiller, CEO of Oklahoma City-based Freymiller Trucking, took the keys to the first new truck to roll off the line. “The pride of driving a Peterbilt is a tool we use to retain and recruit quality drivers.”
