Patriot Reports Lower Earnings for Its Third Quarter

atriot Transportation Holding said late Tuesday that its third fiscal quarter earnings for the period ended June 30 were $2.1 million or 69 cents a share, compared with $10.9 million or $3.68 a year earlier.

The company said that third-quarter 2004 income included $9 million in income from discontinued operations resulting from the sale of real estate.

ransportation segment revenues were $28.6 million, up from $25.6 million a year earlier.

Patriot said its consolidated gross profit for the quarter was $6.8 million, compared with $5.9 million a year earlier.

atriot operates tank carrier Florida Rock & Tank Lines, flatbed hauler SunBelt Transport and a real estate business.
