P.A.M. Turns Second-Quarter Profit

Truckload carrier P.A.M. Transportation Services said its second-quarter net income rose to $935,000, or 11 cents per share, from $693,000 or 8 cents, a year ago.

Revenue decreased 1.8% to $95.9 million.

The carrier said that since May 2011, it has reduced the average age of its truck fleet to 2.1 years, from 3.4 years.

P.A.M. is ranked No. 67 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
