P.A.M. Reports Fourth-Quarter Profit

P.A.M. Transportation Services reported a fourth-quarter net income compared with a loss the prior year.

The truckload carrier reported a profit of $1.3 million, or 15 cents per share, compared with a loss of $311,010, or 4 cents a share, in the 2012 quarter, the company said in a Feb. 6 statement.

Revenue grew to $96.5 million from $96 million last year, P.A.M. reported.

“While the fourth-quarter results are satisfying, momentum slowed during December due to multiple unfavorable weather-related events and a slow final week of the year. We certainly had challenges this December, but October and November performance was strong enough to allow us to finish the quarter with a $2.1 million operating profit,” P.A.M. President Daniel Cushman said in the statement.

P.A.M. is ranked No. 65 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
