Norman Brothers Named Senior Vice President, General Counsel at UPS

UPS Inc. appointed Norman Brothers to the newly created position of senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary in a realignment of top management.

Brothers, who was vice president and deputy general counsel, is taking the top legal post at the Atlanta-based company as Teri McClure, who was chief legal officer and senior vice president, human resources, is shifting responsibility to become  chief human resources officer and senior vice president global human resources and labor.

“Norm has demonstrated tremendous leadership in the 15 years since joining our legal team,” said David Abney, CEO of UPS.  “His experience in diverse legal areas and understanding of our business will be key as he works as part of the leadership team to maintain the high standards we’ve set for our company.”

Brothers, who is joining UPS’ management committee, reports to Abney. His legal experience includes corporate, litigation, business development, regulatory and international, said the statement from the No. 1 company on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.



Brothers, a 15-year UPS employee, previously was a military prosecutor. He is a graduate of Emory University School of Law and the University of Pennsylvania.
