Transportation firm NFI Industries said it has opened a distribution center in Lancaster, Texas, as part of a supply-chain partnership with Rent-A-Center.

The new facility is the first of several distribution centers that will support Rent-A-Center’s operations across North America, the companies said in a joint announcement.

NFI’s partnership with Rent-A-Center also includes integrated transportation service, consisting of transportation management and dedicated fleets.

“The distribution centers that we’re opening with NFI play a key role in how we serve our customers,” said Jonathan Parks, Rent-A-Center’s vice president of global logistics and distribution. “Through this network, we will be able to react to customer needs much quicker.”

Rent-A-Center offers furniture, electronics and appliances through rental- purchase agreements at more than 3,000 retail locations in North America.

“Our partnership will work to support Rent-A-Center’s sustained growth and increase its operational efficiencies,” added Sid Brown, NFI’s CEO.

NFI, headquartered in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is a provider of dedicated transportation, warehousing, intermodal, brokerage and transportation management services. It ranks No. 26 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
