Mullen Transportation’s Profit, Revenue Rise for Quarter

anadian transportation firm Mullen Transportation Inc. reported Thursday it earned about $21 million or $1.40 a share in the first quarter, up from about $18.4 million or $1.24 a year earlier.

Mullen said its first-quarter revenue increased 10.5% to $142.4 million.

“The news in our trucking segment is very good on all fronts,” said Co-Chief Executive Officer Stephen Lockwood. “Demand for trucking services was strong . . . particularly in western Canada.”



Mullen is based in Alberta, Canada. Besides its trucking units, it also has oilfield and gas exploration operations.

Mullen is ranked No. 63 on the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian trucking companies.
