Minnesota Voters Approve Transport Funding

innesota voters have approved an amendment to the state’s constitution that requires all motor vehicle sales tax revenue to be spent on transportation projects, the Associated Press reported Wednesday.

The amendment is expected to make about $300 million available for transportation projects throughout the state, AP said.

The new legislation will be phased in over a five year period and be fully implemented in 2011, AP reported.



The amendment passed by a margin of 51% to 49%, AP said.
