Mack Unveils New Engine, Redesigned 2006 Trucks

The engine and truck-related changes reflect “the biggest step yet in the most rapid and extensive product changeover in the company’s history,” Paul Vikner, the truck maker’s chief executive officer, said during Mack’s 2005 World Sales Conference here Oct. 23-25.
AS VEGAS — Mack Trucks introduced a new 11-liter engine, as well as new and updated truck models designed around that engine.
Mack said the MP7 engine will improve fuel economy compared with its current 12-liter engine, and help prepare a broad range of customers for changes in emission controls coming in 2007.
The company rolled out two models of its new flagship Pinnacle highway tractor, and the two latest versions of its Granite-model construction vehicle.
