Mack Trucks said it has completed the rollout across its entire product line of its diagnostic and repair planning system, GuardDog Connect, adding it as a standard item most recently to its LR refuse models equipped with its standard MP engine.

On Mack-powered vehicles, the system monitors fault codes that could potentially shut down a truck or lead to an unplanned visit to the dealer, and is an integral part of its ongoing commitment to uptime, Greensboro, North Carolina-based Mack said.

“Uptime support is as important for our refuse customers as our highway customers,” Curtis Dorwart, Mack refuse product marketing manager, said in a statement. “GuardDog Connect simplifies the diagnostic and service process and combines purposeful telematics technology with Mack experts who can help keep the customer on the job.”

Through GuardDog Connect, LR customers also will have access to its suite of fleet management services, including Telogis and Omnitracs, Mack said. Telogis is a leading provider of cloud-based intelligence software, and Omnitracs uses GuardDog Connect telematics hardware to capture and relay information such as relative road speed and idling duration and cost, Mack said.
