Louisiana company that has trucking operations said Monday it is pursuing plans to become a fully publicly reporting firm.

Phoenix Associates Land Syndicate, Covington, La., is a holding company with assets in trucking, sand and gravel, soil products, land development, contract hauling, construction, swimming pool construction and construction-related industries, it said in a statement.

Phoenix, founded in Nevada in 1978, currently trades its stock on the Pink Sheets Bulletin Board under the symbol PBLS, according to its Web site.

The company acquired Bayou State Trucking, Houma, La., which has a fleet of about 206 contract trucks, in 2002, its Web site said.

“This number of available trucks is increasing daily. These trucks include flat beds, tractor trailers, tandems and tri-axles,” the Web site said.

“Our accountants and legal team will proceed with all possible haste to make our fully reporting status become a reality in the shortest amount of time,” said Paul Alonzo, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer.
