LAS VEGAS — Navistar International Corp. announced updates to its WorkStar line of vocational trucks at the World of Concrete Show here this week.
The lineup will add selective catalytic reduction emissions technology in May, Navistar said, one month after SCR is slated to debut on the manufacturer’s ProStar line.
The WorkStar will also add 96-inch break-away mirrors this year, which Navistar said minimize cab and door damage from low-speed collisions. The new mirrors will also be available with remote control, and with optional heating and lighting. The trucks will also get standard LED lighting in the dome, courtesy, side, turn, fog and work lights.
Navistar also displayed its WorkStar vocational tractor at the show. This model features a 54,000-pound gross vehicle weight rating and 107-inch bumper to back-of-cab spacing.
It is available with Navistar’s Maxxforce 13-liter engine with SCR., with power ratings up to 475 horsepower and 1,700 pound-feet of torque. The WorkStar tractor is equipped with a vocational bumper and is available in 4x2 and 6x4 configurations, Navistar said.
