Leading Economic Indicators Increase 0.2% in August

The Conference Board’s index of U.S. leading economic indicators, a gauge of the outlook for the next three to six months, climbed 0.2% in August after increasing 1.1% the prior month, the New York-based group said.

The median forecast of 49 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News called for an advance of 0.4%. Estimates ranged from gains of 0.2% to 0.7%.
