Kemp Promoted to President, COO of ABF Freight
Wesley Kemp was appointed president and chief operating officer of less-than-truckload carrier ABF Freight System, the company said.
Kemp, who has been with the company for 39 years, was most recently senior vice president of operations for ABF Freight, the main LTL operating unit of parent company Arkansas Best Corp., Fort Smith, Ark.
Kemp will take over the post of ABF Freight president and COO from Robert Davidson, the president and chief executive officer of the parent company. Davidson will also continue in his role as CEO of the LTL unit, the company said.
Arkansas Best Corp. ranks No. 15 on the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
