Jobless Claims Fall by 4,000 for Week

Initial jobless claims fell by 4,000 last week to the lowest level in more than a month, the Labor Department reported Thursday.The dip to 316,000 new claims was below economists’ forecasts of a rise to 323,000 from the previous week, Bloomberg reported. The less-volatile four-week moving average fell to 326,000 from 329,750 the previous week.The number of people continuing to collect benefits fell by 69,000 to $2.501 million the previous week ended March 10, Labor reported.
