Iteris Reports Improved 2Q Earnings

Iteris Inc., which makes lane-departure warning systems for the trucking industry, said late Tuesday its second-quarter profit improved from a year ago.

Net income rose to $2.2 million or 6 cents a share for the fiscal quarter ended Sept. 30, up from $732,000, or 2 cents a year ago, Iteris said.

Net sales and contract revenue rose 17.4% to $17 million, as a result of a 20.2% increase in transportation systems revenue to $6.2 million, a 34.6% increase in vehicle sensors net sales to $3.2 million and a 9.4% increase in roadway sensors net sales to $7.6 million.
