Index of Leading Indicators Rises 0.2% in October

he Conference Board said Monday its index of leading economic indicators rose 0.2% in October after a revised gain of 0.4% a month earlier.

The increase matched economists’ expectations, Bloomberg reported.

The LEI is closely watched by trucking companies because it forecasts business activity for the next three to six months.



The index of coincident indicators, which gauges current economic activity, rose 0.1% in October after posting a 0.2% gain in September. The index of lagging indicators rose 0.2% for a third month.
