Hub Group’s Fourth-Quarter Earnings Improve

Third-party logistics company and freight broker Hub Group’s fourth-quarter profit rose 33% to a record $18 million, or 47 cents per share, up from $13.5 million, or 34 cents, a year earlier.

Revenue rose 4.7% to $445.5 million, the company said late Wednesday.

Intermodal revenue rose 2.4% to $314.4 million, while truck brokerage revenue rose 15.2% to $93.9 million.

For the full year, Hub Group earned $59.8 million, or $1.53 per share, a gain from $47.7 million, or $1.17, in 2006. The earnings were above the company’s previous guidance of $1.39 to $1.44 per share.



Hub Group said its 2008 earnings would be between $1.50 and $1.62 per share.
